Runway Report: Business of Fashion, Angola
The Fashion Business Angola, the largest fashion event in Africa to be held in the Angola capital, Luanda brought together on 9-12 December over 35 fashion designers and 60 models from Africa, Europe and America in a symbiosis with businessmen. The event, was produced by the organizer of Face of Africa the South African Jan Malan, aimed at advertising the potential of clothing sector in Angola the Angolan designers and their creation in addition to the commercial exchange of products and services between African countries increasing its expression all over the world. Countries like South Africa, Ghana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Nigeria, Botswana, Egypt, Spain, Portugal and Brazil beside the host were represented by more than 15 fashion designers that confirmed attendance at this event. According to Matos Cardoso, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Luanda International Fair (FIL) the big event is NOT a fashion show but a chance for participants to deal with troubles inherent to the domestic industry of textiles clothing accessories and cosmetics.
