African Label Chichia London Wins Ethical Fashion Award
We at HauTe are very happy to hear that one of our featured designers, Chichia London- has recently won an Ethical Fashion Forum Innovation Award (The Pure Award) and a chance to showcase at Pure London (one of England’s leading trade fashion events held form August 7th-9th). Owner of Chichia Christine Mhando, a Tanzanian, works jointly with a fair trade manufacturing factory in Tanzania creating some of her well known signature pieces out of organic African cotton. Mhando studied Fashon Design at Kent University in the UK and has been commended for her efforts in promoting local talents and fabrics via the creation of her ecclectic and high quality garments. Chichia has been featured at a range of Fashion events including ARISE Fashion week and Swahili Fashion week and is definately illustrating its potential to master the ethics of fashion. Congrats to her!
