Editor’s Pick of the Week: Duro Olowu Silk Swing Skirt
If you have been keeping close tabs on the Fashion Weeks which have recently passed by, you would have noticed many of the trends popping up on the runway. And if you were right ontop of the ball – you would have seen the HauTe Trend Report which outlined some of the upcomoing trends such as ‘hues of green’, ‘oversized pockets’ and ‘plenty of print’ making their way through. This Silk swing skirt by Duro Olowu seemed to encapsulate some of my favourite trends so far, and even though its a season old – the man was way ahead of us! Its ability to be used for day and night is obvious in the prints, colours and fabric used. Don’t always opt for that slim fitted tee when wearing an A-line number such as this - baggy on baggy has definitely proved to be the new favourite. For me, I would pair it with an oversized knit, slim line waist belt, an edgy clutch -like the BCBG below, and some heavy Jeffrey Campbells for those winter months. For the not so cold days, bring out the graphic print tees for some fun and quirkiness or an oversized number (such as the lanvin piece below) with a statement necklace for the special occasions. Note: Don’t shy away from mixing your prints together.
Scrape those pennies together and get your hands on this signature piece, it will no doubt add a touch of versitility to any wardrobe.
