Gaborone Fashion Weekend [Day 2] – Boitshoko Kebakile, Sino Ragontse,Tswana Lyric, Koketso, KOKE & Laquan Smith.
Day 2 and final day of the Gaborone Fashion Weekend kicked off with a collective of accessory designers, followed by collections by Koketso and Laquan Smith.

Koketso:
Koketso proved herself an experienced designer with the two collections unveiled; the former witnessed models donning mostly batik /tie-dye prints – the most interesting bit being the juxtaposing of the prints against delicate fabrics in guise of separates and swing dresses. Batik fabrics used as panels for necklines, chiffon/sheer as sleeves, tie-dye printed maxi wrap dresses and jumpsuits alike ; all tastefully constructed – definitely one of our S/S 2013 favorites.
Koke by Koketso:
And then we moved on to a more lady-like scenery set by same designer (Koketso); Observing some safari inspiration from the start of the show a la buckled shoulders and animal printed fabrics, the leopard prints were also seen paired with form fitting skirts or tiered with jacquard and rayon given a 70s look to the shift dress. Also slouchy tailored pieces were featured, infusing sheer and more rayon. The pop of colors were a good touch to the collection, well thought through collection!
Laquan Smith:
Laquan Smith’s neon collection was pure creativity at work, safe to say here we unmistakably observed clean tailoring ; bodysuits, cosmic ray splattered jumpsuits, tastefully distressed lycra tops and body accentuating maxis, full skirted pleated skater skirts and a few body cons here and there. With so much simplicity came Laquan’s expertise!
