New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2013 [Day 1]: Edun
Edun delivered a medley of varied subcultures; from 80s inspired pop influences to pieces targeted at rebellious, grunge obsessed teenagers even as far as influences from the timelessly cool bikers. There weren’t limitations in terms of restricting to a particular throw-back era, it was evident the designer (Sharon Wauchob) sought to deliver character with each piece created.
While the entire collection was unique and peculiar, waxed denims and metal chains were the most interesting infusions in the collection as far we’re concerned – dangled metal chains were speckled on pointy boots, scarves and plaid numbers. Panelled skinny jeans, skinny leather pants and wet look blazers for guys also made an appearance, the stylist on the night did a fantastic with the effortless juxtaposition of layers, allowing the models exude rockstar tendencies.
Job well done creating a punk(ey) atmosphere but the collection didn’t fail to include the accustomed plaid, tartan, , tweed and wool for the not-so-punk at heart.
Will you be rocking Edun this fall?
