Capetown Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2013: [Day 3, Duo 2] – Thula Sindi | Ruald Rheeder

Written by . Posted in +Men, Blog, Fashion Shows, Features.

Thula Sindi:

Thula started off with goth influences – jet black dresses paired with power shoulder biker leather jackets, the designer managed to work his magic on leather creating frills, sleeves and collars using same fabric. Smooth transit into monochrome pieces which we would classify as smart, his signature form fitting pencil dresses – some grey, some black with some peplum occurrences and lady-leather cropped jackets. The show also saw printed dresses; an ode to scarf prints and digital peacock prints make into jumpsuits, belted dresses, maxis, paperbag skirts and pencil skirts. The designer introduced party ready pieces at a latter part of the show; Vinyl, Sequins and Prints were significant in this light. Our favourite piece from this collection would have to be the ombre dyed maxi skirt paired with a lacy body. Teal + Yellow are match-made in heaven!

Ruald Rheeder:

Sweet like Candy; non-stop color blocking at Ruald Rhedeer, full skirted 50s dresses and bright colored suits for men, Our favourite piece from this collection would have to be the printed maxi, frilly neckline and thigh-high slit.
