Brief Biography:
While studying, Tiaan did an apprenticeship at Clive Rundle and participated in the Nederburg Designer Collections competition twice. His entry in the Vukani Young Designers competition saw him whisked off to Paris for a brief fashion eye-opener. After completing his studies, Tiaan worked as an assistant to Marion and Lindie and later as a designer and buyer. This allowed him to do all the merchandising, design and buying of the seasonal range for the stores while conceptualizing on many projects including SSAFW and the Nederburg Collections. Since scooping the 2007 Elle New Talent Award, Tiaan has gone on to win the 2008 Marie Claire Prix d’Excellence Award and plans to open his first store in mid-September that will offer a ready-to-wear range and a made-to-measure service for clients.
