Organisers of the event, Clairvoyant and In the Bag, announced on Monday that the event, dubbed “The Hub of Africa Fashion Week 2012″, will take place between 25 and 27 April next year.
The event will also include a trade expo, which is expected to see the participation of a number of exhibitors from around the world and the holding of symposiums. The event which was a major success this year showcased collections from the likes of Mataano, Korto Momulu, Lalesso, Eskado Bird, Washington Roberts and many more and will be looking at doing the same next year along with the “…giving away of three awards to the designers, which are going to be judged by a panel…”
The awards presented by the judging panel are said to include the “…participation in a Fashion Week in the US, one in Europe and the retailers award….” Organisers of the event aim at generating further interest in the growing African fashion field and assisting designers in the promotion of their name while working to expand this industry.
