New York Fashion Week: Farai Simoyi S/S 2012 ‘Desert Oasis’ Presentation

Saturday, September 17th, 2011

Farai Simoyi’s Spring/Summer 2012 Desert Oasis collection embodies that very definition; a fruitful flourishing where resources are scarce, or at times, seemingly gone. In a desert like industry,Imagine a force that thrives in such harsh climates, and in turn, gracefully produces life through a natural Bohemian collection.

With impassably evident bohemian-gypsy influences, the desert oasis collection embodied the title as described above with hints of North-African [Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria] inspired pieces; with exaggerated hardware neck & hair pieces. Slouchy multi-coloured pieces  with some pirate-esque pants in sight. Also littered on the runway were the rosetti pieces that we’re totally in love with [Farai is seen wearing one of those below], did we mention that she threw in some fringed hemline cropped pieces, asymmetric multiprinted piece and some launch to add some sexy to the collection.
